Chris Brown’s “No Guidance” Achieves Diamond Status; “Under The Influence” and More Earn Platinum Certifications

Chris Brown’s “No Guidance” Achieves Diamond Status, Plus Platinum and Gold Certifications for Other Hits

Chris Brown continues to make waves in the music industry, securing a major milestone in his illustrious career. As of November 12, 2024, the talented R&B singer has officially earned his first-ever Diamond plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his smash hit “No Guidance,” a collaboration with rapper Drake. The track has officially reached 11-times Platinum (Diamond status), marking a significant achievement in his career that solidifies his place in the music history books.

Beyond “No Guidance,” Brown has also been recognized for his extensive catalog of hit songs that continue to resonate with fans worldwide. His 2007 track “With You” has now achieved six-times Platinum status, a testament to its enduring popularity. The 2019 repurposed single “Under The Influence,” from his album Indigo, has now gone five-times Platinum, proving that even older tracks remain relevant in today’s music landscape.

In addition to these remarkable feats, Brown’s 2019 album Indigo and his 2017 album Heartbreak On A Full Moon have seen even more success. The album Indigo has earned Platinum certification, along with first-time tracks like “Call Me Everyday,” featuring Wizkid, “Heat,” and “To My Bed.” Furthermore, Brown’s 2007 smash hits “Take You Down” and “With You” continue to shine, demonstrating his longevity and impact on the R&B genre.

In terms of Gold certifications, Brown’s latest album Breezy has reached Gold status, along with several singles including “Juicy Booty” featuring Jhene Aiko and R. Kelly, “WE (Warm Embrace),” “Angel Numbers/Ten Toes,” and “How We Roll” featuring Ciara. These accolades serve as a testament to Brown’s enduring popularity and artistic output since his debut in 2005.

Despite facing personal and legal challenges throughout his career, Chris Brown’s loyalty to his fanbase, known as TeamBreezy, has remained steadfast. His supporters have continued to celebrate his music, praising him for his artistry and resilience. With comparisons to pop icon Michael Jackson being frequently made by his peers, Brown has cemented his place as one of the most successful and influential R&B artists of his generation.

However, his recent announcements haven’t been without controversy. Brown made headlines when it was revealed that he would be performing in South Africa. Despite some backlash from the country’s Women’s Rights activists, who voiced their disapproval of his past actions, the concert sold out in less than two hours. Brown’s fanbase in South Africa has remained unwavering, with some key public figures, such as former University of Cape Town vice-chancellor Prof Mamokgethi Phakeng, expressing their support. Phakeng stated that she would attend Brown’s concert, emphasizing that enjoying his music should not be equated with endorsing every past action of the artist. Her statement reflected the complex nature of celebrity culture and the divide between an artist’s music and personal life.

In addition to his South African performance, Chris Brown has sold out two shows in Brazil for December, further solidifying his international appeal and influence. His ability to maintain a global fanbase speaks to his continued relevance in the music industry and his enduring legacy as an R&B powerhouse.

Chris Brown’s journey is far from over, and with his string of accolades, continued fan support, and unwavering work ethic, it’s clear that he will remain a dominant force in the music world for years to come.
