Drake Shares Vision for ‘God’s Plan’ TV Show, Pitched to Jeff Bezos
Rapper’s Ambitious Idea for Charitable Series Inspired by Iconic Music Video
Drake recently unveiled his ambitious vision for a TV series inspired by his viral “God’s Plan” music video, which saw him giving away money to those in need. During his live stream with Adin Ross, billed as the “biggest streaming giveaway ever,” Drake revealed that he pitched the concept of a “God’s Plan” TV show to none other than Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
The rapper, who has often been recognized for his philanthropic efforts, explained that the concept of the show would be a global journey to give away vast sums of money in charitable donations, much like the scenes in the “God’s Plan” video. He compared his idea to the popular food-themed travel shows hosted by the late Anthony Bourdain, where the chef and writer ventured to unknown parts of the world to explore cultures and share untold stories.
Drake told Ross during the stream, “You see what we’re doing tonight. This is a thing that I wanted to do ever since I shot that ‘God’s Plan’ video. I asked Jeff Bezos… The word I got back is that he didn’t want to do it.”
The rapper explained that his vision for the TV series involves traveling across the globe, meeting with billionaires and philanthropists, and giving away tens of millions of dollars to individuals in need. He emphasized that the idea was to bring attention to charitable actions in a way that would connect wealthy individuals with those they aim to help, offering a face to their philanthropic efforts.
“I want to do God’s Plan the TV show, ten episodes a year,” Drake shared. “I want to travel across the world. I know there’s a lot of billionaires out there, people who have a lot of money, who don’t have a chance to put a face to their charitable actions.”
The format of the show, according to Drake, would combine charity and travel, showcasing real-life acts of generosity as Drake and his team visit notable locations around the world. By collaborating with wealthy benefactors, the show would provide an opportunity for viewers to witness firsthand the impact of large-scale charitable donations.
While the rapper’s pitch for the show was not accepted by Bezos, Drake’s enthusiasm and commitment to spreading kindness and generosity remain clear. If the project were to come to fruition, it would bring a fresh perspective to the world of reality TV, combining the thrill of adventure with the rewarding act of giving back.
As Drake continues to use his platform to inspire others, it seems that the “God’s Plan” TV show remains an idea close to his heart—one that may come to life in the future with the right support and vision.
